The Daewoo Korando Parking Brake is mechanically operated by cables and levers to apply the rear brakes which use the service brake shoes or disc pads. The parking brake actuators may be operated by hand. When the lever is pulled up, the parking brakes are applied. A ratchet-and-pawl mechanism acts to keep the brake lever applied. To release the lever and the brakes, a button on the lever is pressed and the lever is moved to unlock the ratchet.
